s_ogden_i.jpgWell it looks like the 6′9, 345 pounds monster tackle of the Baltimore Ravens, Jonathan Ogden,テつis calling it a career.テつ He was the staple that held together the O-line in Baltimore all the way back to their 2000 Superbowl win.テつ He made it to the Pro Bowl 11 straight seasons and kept defensive ends at bay when trying to rush whoever their QB was (Boller, Dilfer, Redman, whoever).テつ But injuries in the past few seasons kept him off the field and helped faster defenders to rush past him.テつ Remember a year ago against the Super Bowl Champs that year Colts (they were 13- 3 that year!)?テつ I know that he will be in the Hall of Fame soon, as soon as 2013 with Brett Favre.

But on a side note, don’t have many pics but from this pic, his wife looks pretty hot.

The father of Arkansas star Darren McFadden denied a report that he has sent paperwork to the NFL so his son can enter the upcoming draft.ESPN.com, citing unidentified sources, reported that Graylon McFadden provided the relevant paperwork early this week.

“I hate to be saying anything because all these false stories and everything are floating around,” Graylon McFadden told The Associated Press on Saturday. “But no I didn’t — and that’s all I’ve got to say.”

A university spokesman contacted Saturday declined to comment.

Darren McFadden, a junior tailback, was the Heisman Trophy runner-up in 2006 and 2007. His entry into the NFL draft would come as no surprise. He’s second on the Southeastern Conference’s single-season and career rushing lists after running for 1,830 yards this past season and 4,590 during his three-year career.

The deadline for underclassmen to declare for the NFL draft is next Tuesday. Felix Jones, Arkansas’ other talented junior tailback, has said he’ll announce his intentions Monday.

1200194769.jpgTom Brady was almost perfect. The Patriots still are. Their poised and prolific quarterback knocked another mark out of the books in their record-breaking season, completing all but two of his 28 passes to lead New England to its second straight AFC championship game with a 31-20 victory over the Jacksonville Jaguars on Saturday night.

The Patriots pulled away in the second half to improve to 17-0, matching the 1972 Miami Dolphins , the only team to go unbeaten from the first game of the season through the Super Bowl.

Two more wins and the Patriots will join them - much to the chagrin of some of those Dolphins.

Just one more win next Sunday at Gillette Stadium will put the Patriots back in the Super Bowl for the first time in three years after three championships in the previous four years. They’ll face the winner of Sunday’s game between San Diego and Indianapolis, which beat New England in last year’s AFC title game.

Suspended Falcons quarterback Michael Vick, who was sentenced to 23 months in federal prison for his guilty plea on charges related to dogfighting, plans to enter a drug treatment program that could reduce his time behind bars.

“Mr. Vick has been transferred from the Northern Neck Regional Jail in Virginia to the U.S. Bureau of Prisons minimum security facility in Leavenworth, Kan.,” his attorneys, Billy Martin and Lawrence H. Woodward Jr., said in a jointly issued statement Monday. “Mr. Vick hopes to participate in programs offered at that facility, including the Bureau of Prisons drug treatment program.”

Vick, who failed a drug test while awaiting sentencing in the dogfighting case, is eligible for a federal drug treatment program known as the Residential Drug Abuse Program (RDAP). Inmates are involved in intensive treatment that lasts six to 12 months, with a minimum of 500 hours of treatment.

RICHMOND, Va. - Atlanta Falcons quarterback Michael Vick surrendered to U.S. marshals Monday, three weeks before his sentencing on a dogfighting charge.

Vick is scheduled to be sentenced Dec. 10 on the dogfighting conspiracy charge, but turned himself in because he was anticipating a prison term, according to a court document and a U.S. marshal.

Vick is being held at Northern Neck Regional Jail in Warsaw, a U.S. marshall told The Associated Press.

The order filed in U.S. District Court said テ「竄ャナ天ick has indicated his desire to voluntarily enter custody prior to his sentencing hearing. It appearing appropriate to do so, the U.S. Marshal is ordered to take custody of the Defendant immediately upon his surrender.テ「竄ャツ

The order added that Vick was taken into custody テ「竄ャナ澱ased solely on his desire to begin his period of incarceration prior to his sentencing hearing and not because of violation of any condition of his bond.テ「竄ャツ

Major League Baseball To Air the 2007 MLB Draft on ESPN 2

draft2006.gifThe NFL and NBA drafts have been televised for years. Now, Major League Baseball is joining the trend. For the first time in its history, the baseball entry draft will be aired live on ESPN2. Coverage will begin on Thursday, June 7th at 2 p.m. ET from Disney’s Wide World of Sports Complex in Orlando, Fla. The broadcast will end at 6 p.m. ET. Baseball Commissioner Bud Selig said the telecast, “will give fans access to see this critical function of an organization’s development.

This is an idea whose time has come.” Each team’s first round pick will be televised and all clubs will have a maximum of five minutes to make their selections. The Tampa Bay Devil Rays will have the first selection. The San Francisco Giants will have three picks in the first round, while the Toronto Blue Jays and the Texas Rangers will each have two first round choices. The draft will have 50 rounds and will conclude after all 30 teams have passed on a selection or after the final selection of the 50th round, whichever comes first.

My Take:

“I don’t know if this would have the impact of say the NFL because many of us don’t know many of these guys. Even in the NBA, after the first few players in the 1st round, there are many foreign players that we have never heard of. In baseball, we have those coming straight out of high school and have not seen many of the players play like we would on Saturdays during the fall. It may be successful, but it looks like ESPN doesn’t feel too good about it either because it is being placed on their B-Team with it being on ESPN 2. I just hope that we don’t have to hear Chris Berman go ‘There it gooooes, back, back, back, back, back, back, back, back, back, back, back, back, back, back, back, back, back, back, back, back, back, back!!!!’ ”
