Vick enters drug program; Could require Vick to only have 12 months in prison upon completion
Written by Sports Dude on January 8, 2008 – 12:37 amSuspended Falcons quarterback Michael Vick, who was sentenced to 23 months in federal prison for his guilty plea on charges related to dogfighting, plans to enter a drug treatment program that could reduce his time behind bars.
“Mr. Vick has been transferred from the Northern Neck Regional Jail in Virginia to the U.S. Bureau of Prisons minimum security facility in Leavenworth, Kan.,” his attorneys, Billy Martin and Lawrence H. Woodward Jr., said in a jointly issued statement Monday. “Mr. Vick hopes to participate in programs offered at that facility, including the Bureau of Prisons drug treatment program.”
Vick, who failed a drug test while awaiting sentencing in the dogfighting case, is eligible for a federal drug treatment program known as the Residential Drug Abuse Program (RDAP). Inmates are involved in intensive treatment that lasts six to 12 months, with a minimum of 500 hours of treatment.

Michael Vick begins prison sentence early
Written by Sports Dude on November 19, 2007 – 3:26 pmRICHMOND, Va. - Atlanta Falcons quarterback Michael Vick surrendered to U.S. marshals Monday, three weeks before his sentencing on a dogfighting charge.
Vick is scheduled to be sentenced Dec. 10 on the dogfighting conspiracy charge, but turned himself in because he was anticipating a prison term, according to a court document and a U.S. marshal.
Vick is being held at Northern Neck Regional Jail in Warsaw, a U.S. marshall told The Associated Press.
The order filed in U.S. District Court said “Vick has indicated his desire to voluntarily enter custody prior to his sentencing hearing. It appearing appropriate to do so, the U.S. Marshal is ordered to take custody of the Defendant immediately upon his surrender.â€
The order added that Vick was taken into custody “based solely on his desire to begin his period of incarceration prior to his sentencing hearing and not because of violation of any condition of his bond.â€

Gossip of the Day; Plaxico Burress skips out of $2000 tab, Clinton Portis says “Vick did nothing wrong”
Written by Sports Dude on May 20, 2007 – 9:39 pm
Well, here are some of the headlines that you might not catch when scouring the net for sports news, that’s why we tell you to check here first because we got it for you.
Seems like ole Plax according to Page Six of the NYPost visited a night spot where he was seen insulting a female patron and “Walked It Out” like UNK on a $2000 bill. If this is true, I hope this does not get thrown all with the media for Goodell to do some kind of discipline for it.
Sources say New York Giants wide receiver Plaxico Burress insulted female patrons there and “left the club without paying his $2,000 tab.”
It seemed that Burress was upset Wednesday night because “no women were paying any attention to him.”
Step your game up man. You are a millionaire and you still can’t pull any chicks? We know Plaxico has not had the cleanest of pasts, but this can’t look good for the Giants this year because Burress had a rotten attitude last year when balls were not thrown his way or if the balls were too low or too high. You are not T.O. yet, you haven’t got to that level to whine, bitch and moan, and still get paid the big bucks.

Another story is more in the Mike Vick saga of the alleged Dog Fighting. We should hear more about this tomorrow since the prosecutor, Gerald Poindexter, and investigators are to sit down to discuss the evidence found. But Clinton Portis isn’t keeping his mouth closed on the issue.
He says that he’s 100% behind Vick and everyone else, fans and media, should their motherfuckin business because this is getting way too much attention.
“I don’t know if he was fighting dogs or not, but it’s his property, it’s his dog,” Portis told WAVY-TV. “If that’s what he wants to do, do it. I think people should mind their business.”
More quotes from Portis were “a lot of back roads that got the dog fight if you want to go see it” and “if it’s behind closed doors, it’s okay.” Although I don’t agree fully with Portis and he has a right to his opinion, I think that the situation is a “Out to get Vick” investigation. Instead of trying to find out who is behind it, the only focus is on Vick and that’s not right. We even got a congressman, Tom Lantos, who should be worried about the war in Iraq where people are dying, concerned about Vick being punished when we don’t have evidence of him knowing about this.

The Mike Vick Dog Fighting Videos have been found and for sale on Ebay!
Written by Sports Dude on May 18, 2007 – 12:22 amThe Mike Vick Dog Fighting video has been found and it is now listed on Ebay.com to be bidded on. Well, not really. This is what the listing shows:
I have in my possession a FAKE video of Mike Vick at a dog fight behind his Virginia house. The DA is offering a $2,500 reward if you turn in a tape of Vick at a dog fight.
I am offering my tape at half price because it is not real. If you want to purchase this tape, then it is for sole enjoyment.
If you do bid, I will be expecting my money. So click on Buy it Now and I’ll send you the fake video. (Don’t expect much of a video![]()
ALL BIDS ARE FINAL. Maybe I can make some money off this STUPID IDEA!
* DISCLAIMER
This tape is not real and will never be. This item has been created for the sole purpose of a good laugh. *
Here the link to the listing. Seems that the investigators are giving a whopping $2500 for information about the tapes. I’m sure that if Vick does have a tape, he could break you off a little more than that.
I thought this was funny and I found it on the Atlanta Falcons message board. This is another reason why we should let the investigation go on and stop with all of the speculations. In this country, you are supposed to be innocent until proven guilty and for some reason, this is not the case for some. Media, get off your lazy asses and get a real story instead off trying to make something out of a situation where people have to do their jobs. Like I said before, you are REPORTERS not INVESTIGATORS, so leave your spy kits at home along with your other spy gadgets out of the bottom of cereal boxes.

Gerald Poindexter laughs in the face of reporters over Vick Case.
Written by Sports Dude on May 14, 2007 – 10:05 am
As we continue to see more reports on the Mike Vick Dog Fighting Investigation, the more it is looking like a ‘Witch Hunt’. WAVY TV 10 has had a new report everyday when nothing has changed in the investigation one way or the other. Do you guys need ratings that bad? It would be nice to see how the authorities go through the case and go through what evidence that they have.
According to this station, investigators have forwarded evidence to Surry County Commonwealth Attorney, Gerald Poindexter. But according to Poindexter, this is not the case and laughs in the face of the reporter and gets down right crazy in the video. Maybe you shouldn’t be popping up on someone trying to do an investigation.
Check out the video here of Gerald Poindexter. I bet this guy is a fun time when he gets some drinks in him. Just check out that shirt! Shit is pure comedy!
Let’s let the evidence or lack there of roll in and let the people trained to investigate do their job and leave the ‘Reporting’ to the reporters. I wonder where the unedited version of this tape is?

Looking for a big mansion w/ some dog houses? Mike Vick got one for the low, low. (Sold!)
Written by Sports Dude on May 11, 2007 – 8:09 am
You know that whole dog fighting thing that Mike Vick is facing in Virgnia, well it seems that the house where all of this supposedly originated from is up for sale and from reports is Vick “has priced the property to sell quickly“. Is there a reason for this? 0
Unless you have been under a rock the last couple of weeks, you would know about the Mike Vick Dog Fighting case where a warrant was issued for his cousin for drugs and they found over 70 pitbulls that from equipment found, were being bred for fighting that is illegal in 48 states including Virginia.
**Update**
Well it looks like it didn’t take too long to get rid of the House of Hell for Vick. The house valued at $747,000 was sold in hours for an undisclosed price, but it was said that the asking price was $350,000! Now someone just got them a deal!Â
