For a player who was often put up there with Lebron and Dwyane Wade, he has come up short when it comes to playoff success.  He has never made it out of the first round where his cohorts have been to the finals and with Wade, won one.  Now he’s going around saying that they “quit” against the Lakers in the 3rd game where they now trail 3 - 0 in the series. 

I have not been a big fan of Anthony and have never put him up there with those other guys.  For a player to be surrounded with the talent that he has had over the years, he does not have the ability to elevate his game and the players around him.  And don’t give me this crap about it being the west.  At least you can look like you are competitive and they have not.  Let’s keep Anthony out of the conversation when we look back to the best players too come out of the 2003 NBA Draft.  He’s good, but not great.  Maybe that’s why Detroit passed on him saying that they have a Tayshaun Prince type player already.  At least he’s not Darko.

This sh*t had me rollin last night after that blowout by the Lakers over the non-defensive Denver Nuggets.  The Inside the NBA crew, the funniest sports show on TV, recreated the Kobe jumpin the Aston Martin with Kenny doing the jumpin.  If you haven’t checked it out, check out how well he jumps over the car.

There’s this video floating around the net of Kobe Bryant jumping over an Aston Martin. According to ESPN it is another marketing ploy by Nike. Looks real, but in an interview with John Ireland of CBS, he says:

“It’s Hollywood. What’chu expect out here? Hey, if Rambo can take on a whole army - ‘Rambo Part 20′ can take on a whole army, I can jump over an Aston Martin.”

I’m sure Jerry Buss would have jumped in front of that car had it been real. Cool video none the less.

Chris Douglas-Roberts Dunks On Kevin Love and leaves him with a mouthful of ……….. and falls straight to the floor.  It always looks bad when you get dunked on straight up and not try to jump up defend.  They always look this bad, so don’t worry Kevin, you ain’t the only poor soul to have this happen, but Douglas-Roberts did his thing.

Check out video of Packer great Brett Favre breakdown during his press conference on his retiring. I have to admit, it got me when I watched it live. There were times in the past where I hated on Brett, but as I continued to watch, he gained my respect. He played with a lot of passion and a gunslinger’s mentality, shooting his guns until there were no rounds left in the chamber. Oh yes, there were times he shot blanks, but there were other times he could not miss.

Favre said, “I promised I wouldn’t get emotional” and then, after a long pause, “It’s never easy. You know, it’s funny, I watched hundreds of players retire, and you wonder what that would be like. You think you’re prepared.”

He then took about 20 seconds to regain his composure before continuing, by saying what he said to his wife prior to the press conference: “I was telling Deanna on the way over here, God has blessed me with so many great things, abilities, wonderful family, and as I was flying up here today I thought about so many things and I wanted to say so many things that I feel like I needed to say. But He gave me an opportunity to use my abilities and I seized that opportunity. I thank Him for that.”

He then said, “I’d like to thank the Packers for giving me the opportunity as well.” And then he broke into tears again as he said, “I hope that every penny … I hope that every penny that they’ve spent on me, they know that’s money well spent. It was never about the money, the fame, the records. I hear people talk about ‘Your accomplishments’ and things that — it was never my accomplishments, it was our accomplishments.”
