For a player who was often put up there with Lebron and Dwyane Wade, he has come up short when it comes to playoff success. He has never made it out of the first round where his cohorts have been to the finals and with Wade, won one. Now he’s going around saying that they “quit” against the Lakers in the 3rd game where they now trail 3 - 0 in the series.Â
I have not been a big fan of Anthony and have never put him up there with those other guys. For a player to be surrounded with the talent that he has had over the years, he does not have the ability to elevate his game and the players around him. And don’t give me this crap about it being the west. At least you can look like you are competitive and they have not. Let’s keep Anthony out of the conversation when we look back to the best players too come out of the 2003 NBA Draft. He’s good, but not great. Maybe that’s why Detroit passed on him saying that they have a Tayshaun Prince type player already. At least he’s not Darko.
