If Lindsey Lohan gets on 84 min in jail for all of the shit she has been doing, I don’t have too much of a problem with Tyson getting this slap on the wrist. He needs drug help than jail anyway. I think that those who put others at risk by being under the influence should get a punishment that would help prevent this from happening again, but as long as our justice system continues to let our stars off easy, Im all for it.
Mike Tyson was sentenced Monday to 24 hours in jail and three years’ probation for drug possession and driving under the influence.
The former heavyweight champion had pleaded guilty in September to a single felony count of cocaine possession and a misdemeanor DUI count.
Tyson had faced a possible maximum sentence of four years and three months in prison. Prosecutor Shane Krausner had recommended one year in prison Monday, saying that Tyson was a multiple offender who previously had been convicted of violent crime and that only now has he sought treatment for his drug addiction.
The big fight that has been put in our faces for months has finally concluded with Mayweather winning in a Split Decision (I don’t know where the split comes from) after 12 rounds. This was a fight that boxing hoped would bring back the sizzle of boxing’s glory days where it highlighted the sports enthusiasts and the common fan. The fight was good at best with Floyd Mayweather, Jr. landing precision punches and De La Hoya coming in with multiple body shots and proving that Mayweather has a way to go if he wants to compete in the heavier weight classes. He just was not hitting hard enough to knock out De La Hoya.
