USA Men’s Basketball Team off to a good start. Can they bring home the gold?

I watched the NBA’s top stars take on Yao Ming and his teammates on the China team start off a little slow, but pick up the pace during the 2nd period.  They just seemed to wear out China and just start running on the break, blocking shots, and getting easy baskets under the boards.  Lebron James was a man-child showing off his athleticism on blocks, dunks, and even knocking down the outside shots.

This team has great passers from Jason Kidd, CP3 (Chris Paul), Darren Williams, but they also have King James and Kobe.  I think that the only way they will be able to take it all the way is if they can get the likes of Michael Redd hot and continue to get easy baskets down low with Dwight Howard.  They probably have one of the best passing teams in Olympic history.  I know it was the first game, but it was good to see a 30+ point win for the US!

On a side note, the Lakers look like they may be getting a good player in Sun Yue.  You will be hearing more from this guy as the Olympics go on.

Looks like Brett Favre’s headed to the J-E-T-S, Jets, Jets, Jets!

Thank the Lord up above that this Brett Favre saga is almost over.  The Packers have agreed to move fan favorite (depending on which fans you ask) to the New York Jets.

“Brett has had a long and storied career in Green Bay, and the Packers owe him a tremendous debt of gratitude for everything he accomplished on the field and for the impact he made in the state,” Green Bay officials said in a statement.

I wish him luck, but I wish he would have said that he didn’t want to be with the Packers in the first place instead of acting like he really wanted to retire.  Good luck to him and I wonder if he shoots to the top of the depth chart with Chad “Noodle Arm” Pennington and former Oregon QB Kellen Clemens.
