Terrell Owens left Texas Stadium in the same condition as most Dallas Cowboys fans Sunday.

In tears.

Owens became emotional after media members grilled him about personal decisions made by quarterback Tony Romo in preparation for Sunday’s NFC playoff game against the New York Giants.

“You guys can point the finger at him. You can talk about the vacation. If you do, it’s really unfair,” Owens said in a press conference following the Cowboys’ 21-17 loss.

He made it no further before breaking down — nearly becoming inaudible.

“He’s my teammate,” Owens continues. “He’s my quarterback. We lost as a team, man. We lost as a team.”

While many labeled Romo’s journey to Mexico last weekend with celebrity girlfriend Jessica Simpson as a distraction, the Cowboys, to a man, disputed that.

Owens, who returned from an ankle injury to catch four balls for 49 yards and a touchdown Sunday, has himself stayed away from the “distraction” label by the media for the first time in several years.

Noticing the tables had been turned and the media was focused on Romo, Owens stepped to his defense.

“It’s unfair,” Owens said. “I’ve been through (the scrutiny). I know what it’s like. (Tony) gives his all every day. I know the media. I know how they are going to react. Let (the loss) fall on the team’s shoulders.”

Sunday, Romo maintained his decision to get away from the Metroplex was a good one.

“I don’t live with regrets,” said Romo, who finished Sunday 18-of-36 passing for 201 yards, a touchdown and an interception on the game’s final play. “I’m content in my own skin. If I try and be a good person and I’m strong enough in my faith, then I feel I’m doing it the right way.

“I figured it was better than going to Vegas and drinking for a few days.

“I thought I was making a good decision. It is what it is. You said I would hear about it for awhile. I doubt I will. I won’t be reading or listening to anything for awhile.”

    Don’t get emotional Owens !
Liverpool defender Daniel Agger has suffered a recurrence of a foot injury that threatens to wreck his season.

Agger has been sidelined since September with a metatarsal injury and he aggrevated the problem in training on Sunday as he tried to step up his return to fitness:
