BCS inches toward playoff. Could it really happen in our lifetime?
Big-time college football never has been closer to having a playoff. Don't get too excited. There are still plenty of obstacles standing in the way, and at best it's probably seven years away from becoming a reality -- if it ever does. But, hey, at least the people in charge want to talk about it. In Bowl Championship Series terms, that's progress. "This whole postseason of college football, since going back into the mid- to early '90s, has been an evolution. Signifi... Read More
NFL approves deal sending Pacman to Cowboys
The NFL formally approved Tennessee's trade of suspended cornerback Adam "Pacman" Jones to the Dallas Cowboys on Sunday. "I think for Adam's sake it's a very good first step," Jones' agent Manny Arora said. "We still have to get through the NFL commissioner's office. I think once we do that we can breathe a sigh of relief and get back to playing football." Jones must still be reinstated by NFL commissioner Roger Goodell. Arora declined to discuss the details of the c... Read More
Bryant Gumbel to leave NFL Network
Bryant Gumbel has given up his role as an NFL Network play-by-play announcer after two seasons. The NFL Network said Friday it was looking for a new play-by-play announcer to work with Cris Collinsworth on the network's Thursday and Saturday night games. "I thoroughly enjoyed the opportunity to call NFL Network games the past two years, which was a new experience for me," Gumbel said in a statement. "But we've agreed that we'd all be better served going in different dir... Read More

Tennessee men’s Athletic Director Mike Hamilton said Thursday that students will be required to pay $15 for individual game tickets, or can purchase season tickets for all seven home games for $90. Hamilton said the student fee is due to the financial increase in various areas including coaching salaries, athletic scholarships and travel fees. “The bottom line i... Read More
Todd Boeckman: Hype makes it tough for Terrelle Pryor
When Terrelle Pryor, the nation’s No. 1 high school quarterback recruit, signed with Ohio State last month there were some Buckeyes fans who assumed he would just come in and take over as the starter. Don’t count on that. The Buckeyes already have a starter in fifth-year senior Todd Boeckman. Nobody’s saying that Pryor, the Jeannette, Pa., prep star, won’t play for the Buckeyes this fall. Some even think he can play a major role. But those who think the incoming f... Read More

Looks like Deshawn Stevenson has stepped into some sh*t that he can’t get himself out of.  Now, the best rapper since Tupac and Biggie died is coming back at Stevenson with this diss track.  Not only have the Wiz Kids gone down 3 - 1 to King James and the gang, but now Rap Mogul Jay-Z is adding his two cents in and just check out the lyrics, taking multiple shots at Stevenson.

First of all, Stevenson coming out saying James was overrated was very dumb on his part.  If Agent 0, Gilbert Arenas, said it, I could ride with it.  But who the f*ck is a Deshawn Stevenson.  After hearing about the song, here’s his response:

He says he has a lot of swag, but I don’t think that’s something to do,” Stevenson said about James. “This is basketball. I’m not worried about the song. I’m not worried about what he did. But for Damon Jones to get on the mic. And I heard he was saying foul stuff about me and stuff like that, they’re taking it beyond basketball to me. When I had Soulja Boy here. It was on the court,” Stevenson said. “It was nothing disrespecting him or his family or even foul language.”

Oh yeah, Soulja Boy, sit yo young ass down somewhere.

Here’s the link to the song to check it out and let me know what you think

Oh Where, Oh Where has Carmello Anthony been? Oh Where Could He Be?

For a player who was often put up there with Lebron and Dwyane Wade, he has come up short when it comes to playoff success.  He has never made it out of the first round where his cohorts have been to the finals and with Wade, won one.  Now he’s going around saying that they “quit” against the Lakers in the 3rd game where they now trail 3 - 0 in the series.

I have not been a big fan of Anthony and have never put him up there with those other guys.  For a player to be surrounded with the talent that he has had over the years, he does not have the ability to elevate his game and the players around him.  And don’t give me this crap about it being the west.  At least you can look like you are competitive and they have not.  Let’s keep Anthony out of the conversation when we look back to the best players too come out of the 2003 NBA Draft.  He’s good, but not great.  Maybe that’s why Detroit passed on him saying that they have a Tayshaun Prince type player already.  At least he’s not Darko.

As you know, DeShawn Stevenson (who is this clown??) was going around in the media talking Lebron was overrated, and that the Wizards would not lose 3 years in a row to the Cavaliers. Well, they’re starting out on the wrong foot as the King takes game 1 in the series in Cleveland, but the highlight was not his 32 points with 20 of them in the second half, but this alleyoop dunk where he grabs the ball from the top of the backboard to slam it down. Check out the video:

Don’t fukk with the King!

UCLA’s Kevin Love going pro, but how will he pan out in the NBA?

Kevin LoveAfter leading UCLA to its third-straight Final Four, Bruins freshman Kevin Love is expected to declare for the NBA draft. Sources close to the situation told SI.com that the 6-foot-9 forward will make his announcement Thursday afternoon in Los Angeles.

He is supposed to be a lottery pick, somewhere around 8, but should he go higher? Leading his team to the Final Four and one of the top college teams in the country this year and who can forget those amazing full court shots he can do.

Or him shattering the backboard in highschool?

I think he has the skill set to be a good pro, but I think he really needs to hit the weightroom first and foremost. He has a big frame, but it does not appear to be any muscle mass. I think that once he does that, he can compete with other forwards in the league.

New York Yankee construction workers spoil the fun of some dope buring a Red Sox jersey…

This is just dumb. It seems that the Yankees had to get their construction workers to go through 2 feet of cement to find a Red Sox jersey that was buried to have something to hang over the heads Yankee Fans when they enter their new stadium. But thank goodness they were tipped off on this to stop this dumb ass joke.

On Saturday, construction workers who remembered the employee, Gino Castignoli, phoned in tips about the shirt’s location. “We had anonymous people come tell us where it was, and we were able to find it,” said Frank Gramarossa, a project executive with Turner Construction, the general contractor on the site.

It took about five hours of drilling Saturday to locate the shirt under 2 feet of concrete, he said.
Trost said the Yankees had discussed possible criminal charges against Castignoli with the district attorney’s office.

“We will take appropriate action since fortunately we do know the name of the individual,” he said.

A woman who answered the phone at Castignoli’s home in the Bronx on Sunday said he was not there.

Hey, Im not a Yankee fan, but this shit has to stop when it comes to people fukking with a multi-million dollar project just to have something to chant about during the baseball season on curses and other crap.

Read more about this and I hope whoever did this gets prosecuted for this. I like pranks, but this is just dumb.

urban-meyer-gives-scholarshipWTF??? Here’s the article:

Florida coach Urban Meyer is searching for the fastest student on campus.

He’s quite certain it’s one of his football players — Louis Murphy, Chris Rainey or Deonte Thompson. But just in case, he’s having a race Saturday to find out for sure.

And what happens if someone beats his speedsters before the team’s spring game?

“They’re on scholarship,” Meyer said.

Looks like the Gator Experiment isn’t working out quite well since they could find someone to break the 4.3 mark and my money’s on the Gator players. I’ll take Percy Harvin right now even after his heal surgery!!!
